Burning Safely

Always use a heat resistant, level surface to burn your candles. Aim to keep them away from other flammable materials.

You can browse our range of candle coasters which are a perfect protective accompanyment.

Keep candles away from children and pets and please do not leave them unattended when lit.

Handling

A lit candle jar can be very hot. Never handle a candle when lit and always leave it to cool before moving.

If the wax is still molten, please do not move it as it means the candle is still hot but it also may spill and cause serious burns.

Lighting and Extinguishing

The further your candle burns into the jar, the harder it'll become to light. We highly recommend a long barrelled lighter to light your candles to reduce your risk of burns.

A candle snuffer is the best solution to extinguishing a candle safely.

When to replace

Getting to the end of your candle is always an exciting time, what scent will you try next?

We do however recommend that when the wax is 1cm from the bottom that you replace it, maybe with one of our refills!

Candle safety:

  • Between burns, make sure the wick is trimmed to approx. 5mm, discarding any carbon remnants.

  • Never leave a burning candle unattended or leave near materials that can catch fire.

  • Use a suitable candle holder, or similar, to protect your furniture and make sure the surface is even.

  • Keep out of reach of children & pets, draughts, curtains and ornaments.

  • Don’t burn for longer than 2 hours at a time. Less if the candle is near the end of it’s life.

  • If you have more than one candle burning at the same time, leave at least 10cm between burning candles.

  • To prevent wax spillage, use a snuffer to extinguish the candle, thoroughly.

  • Be mindful that the top of the container may be quite warm, and the melted wax will remain liquid for quite some time. Ensure it wont be knocked or tipped to prevent spillage.

  • After it has cooled, if the candle has a lid, carefully replace it to prevent dust, and for peace of mind.

  • For any spillages, as we use 100% pure soy wax, clean it with hot soapy water.
